if they intersect then there can be two tangents drawn from the point of intersection.... this means that there will be two directions of the same magnetic field....

this is not possible,hence 2 magnetic field lines cannot intersect each other

Two magnetic field lines do not intersect each other because when we draw tangent on these they give the direction of magnetic field at that point and if they intersect then there will be 2 tangents and there will be 2 directions of the magnetic field at a point which is not possible practically.
