Given : Y Ltd. purches 10000 shares at rupess 120 each and paid brokerage at 2%

To Find :  the cost of acquisition

Solution:

Number of Shares purchased = 10000

Price of Share  = Rs 120

Total Cost of Shares = 120 * 10000  = Rs 1200000

Brokerage = 2 %

Brokerage = (2/100) 1200000 = 24000 Rs

cost of acquisition  = 1200000 + 24000

= Rs 1224000

Rs 1224000 is the cost of acquisition
