Given : Linear Equation 5x + 3y= 5

To Find : Correct Ordered Pair

A) (1.0)  (B) (2, 1) (C) (-1,-2) (D) (0,1)

Solution:

5x + 3y= 5

A) (1.0)  => 5(1) + 3(0) = 5 => 5 + 0 = 5 => 5 = 5  Satisfied

(B) (2, 1)  => 5(2) + 3(1)  = 5 => 10 + 3 =  5 => 13 = 5  not satisfied

(C) (-1,-2)   => 5(-1) + 3(-2) = 5 => -5 - 6 = 5 => -11 = 5   not satisfied

(D) (0,1)  => 5(0) + 3(1)  = 5 => 0 + 3 =  5 =>  3 = 5  not satisfied

Hence ( 1, 0) is  the ordered pair which satisfy linear equation 5x + 3y= 5

the perpendicular distance of the point (3,-4) from x-axis  =  4

as this point will be (3 , 0)

Distance = √(3 - 3)²  + (-4-0)² = √0 + 16 = √16 = 4
