Answer:

y=x+1

2y=5-x

2(x+1)=5-x

2x+2-5=-x

2x+x=5-2

Answer:

x = 1  and  y = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

y = x + 1

x = y - 1 ... ( i )

2 y = 5 - x

x = 5 - 2 y ... ( ii )

From ( i ) and ( ii )

y - 1 = 5 - 2 y

3 y = 6

y = 2

Putting y = 2 in ( i )

x = y - 1 ... ( i )

x = 2 - 1

x = 1

We get point ( x , y ) = ( 1 , 2 )  , now we can in graph there is intersection point at ( 1 , 2 )which mean value of x and y are correct.
