Reuters 28 December: The greatest legal battle between two tech giants has shaken the stock exchange.
Yahoo Inc. has demanded licensing fees from Facebook for use of its technology. Yahoo claims that Facebook has not paid license fee for using technology owned Yahoo.
The issue raised by Yahoo is that Facebook has used a number of patents like the technical mechanisms in their ads, privacy controls, news feed and messaging service without taking the consent of Yahoo.
Although representatives and legal advisors of both the company have sat together for several round of meetings no solution has yet been drawn.
When Facebook officials were consulted none of them agreed to speak.
Facebook is yet to address the press on the issue but if the matter is not solved quickly net users will be confronting a huge techno battle.
