Yakshit writes the following steps in order to response a question given in his book. Step 1: Draw a line l and mark a point P on it. Step 2: With P as the center ,draw ∠APB = 90°. Step 3: With P as the center and radius 8 cm, draw an arc intersecting AP at a point, say M. Step 4: With M as the center and radius 10 cm, draw an arc intersecting PB at T. Step 5: Join MT. Which of these is the possible question, he is solving ?

(a) Construct a right triangle APT where AP = 8 cm and AT = 10 cm.

(b) Construct a right triangle APB where AP = 8 cm and AB = 10 cm.

(c) Construct a right triangle MPT where MP = 8 cm and MT = 10 cm.

(d) Construct a right triangle MPB where MP = 8 cm and MB = 10 cm.

Answer is option C.

First a right angle is constructed at P named as APB. With radius 8cm and P as centre AP is cut at M so the right angle becomes MPB with MP=8cm. With M as centre and radius 10cm PB is cut at T. On joining MT we obtain a right angled triangle MPT with MP=8cm and MT=10cm
