Answer:

\huge{\pink{\boxed{\green{\sf{TOTAL\:NO.\:OF\:QUESTION=20}}}}}

Step-by-step explanation:

\huge{\pink{\boxed{\green{\underline{\red{\sf{SOLUTION-}}}}}}}

Let the no. of correct question be x

no. of incorrect question be y

According to given question:

 \to 3x - y = 40 -  -  -  -  - (1) \\  \\  \to 4x - 2y = 50 \\  \to 2(2x - y) = 50  \\ \to 2x - y = 25 -  -  -  -  - (2)

Subtracting (1) from (2):

 \to 2x - y  - (3x - y)= 25 - 40 \\  \to 2x - y - 3x + y =  - 15 \\  \to  - y =  - 15 \:  \\  \to y = 15

Putting value of x in (1)

 \to 2x - y = 25 \\  \to 2 \times 15 - y = 25 \\  \to  - y = 25 - 30 \\  \to  - y =  - 5 \\  { \pink{ \boxed{ \green{\therefore y = 5}}}} \\  \\ { \pink{ \boxed{ \green{\therefore total \: no. \: of \: question= x + y = 15 + 5 = 20}}}}
