The answer is 45° .
/_ i = /_r
Therefore angle of incidence = angle of reflection = 45°
Since on the plane three angles are formed so a of all the should be 180° .
Since normal makes the 90° so the sum of other two should be 90° . App the correct option is (b) .
If we take (a) Then = 90+30+30=150°
So the line will not be straight which is not possible .

The question says that if the angle of incident is
1. 30° then the angle of refraction is r1
2. 45° then angle of refraction is r2
We have to find the relationship between 30° and 40° angles with respect to refraction
...........
angle i1 = 30o
angle i2 = 45o
According to Snell's law,
R.I. = sin i1 / sin r1;
also,R.I. = sin i2 / sin r2
sin i1 / sin r1 = sin i2 / sin r2
sin 30o / sin r1 = sin 45o / sin r2
1 / (2 X sin r1) = 1 / (root 2 X sin r2)
(2 X sin r1) = (root 2 X sin r2)
sin r1 / sin r2 = 1 / root 2
Try to do further steps .....
