Wavlength (λ)= 580 nm
= 580 × 10^-9 m

frequency = C / λ

where c = (speed of light i.e,3×10^8 m/s)

on putting C & λ in the formula :

frequency = ( 3×10^8 ) / (580×10 ^-9)
frequency = 5.17 × 10^14
or
= 5.2 × 10^14

Wave number = 1/λ
= 1/580×10^-9
= 1.724 × 10^6 m^-1
