Second Rail Accident in Three Months, Mass Protest Tomorrow
by Staff Correspondent, The Herald
5th July 2016, Bhopal :- For the second time in three months, Bhopal Junction witnessed another train-car collision at an unmanned railway crossing near the station. This time, the victims include a man, a woman, and two children. As per police reports, the accident occurred yesterday, between 2:30pm and 2:45pm, when the bar near the railway crossing was supposed to be put down for the 2:40pm freight train to pass. The bars were up while the black Suzuki Dzire was crossing the lines, only to be smashed by the high-speed train. The locals informed that this incident was same as the first one, where a young biker was run over by a galloping local. The railway officials have not made any statements regarding both the cases. This has compelled local activists and the youth to mobilise for a Mass Protest tomorrow, in front of the IRCTC head office in Bhopal. This Protest will be led by student associations of various parties, coming together as a single unit. The traffic conditions for tomorrow will be available in tomorrow's issue of The Herald.
