Dear Diary,

Yesterday, just as soon as I returned from school, I saw my maid working in the house as usual, but she had bought her two kids with her. Now that was none of my business, but I observed that whenever her son asked her for something, she agreed. But when her daughter asked or requested her something, she didn't care to listen.
   
          My maid's daughter asked her to buy her a toy, but the maid refused.
When she was working, and her daughter asked her to tell her a story, she refused. Later, when her son asked her to tell him a story, she told it to him.
I felt very sad about this. Why would a mother discriminate with her own children? She acted as if her daughter was a burden for her. Well, I couldn't do anything. Talking to the maid about this matter would be awkward for me, as well as she might take the talk personally. This incident has been tingling me for some time now.

I just want to say, why are you so gender biased? Even if you are, that's fine, but why are you biased about your own children?! I was thinking for a moment that her daughter was adopted, but when I asked the maid whether her daughter was adopted, she said her daughter was not adopted.
