Lal Bahadur Shastri   was the 2nd Prime Minister of India and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress political party.  Shastri was born at   Ramnagar,  2 October 1904. He attended a public meeting in Benares and  Inspired by the Mahatma's call for students joined he non-cooperation movement He participated in the Salt Satyagraha in 1930 .
