Our next door neighbor, a very nice and friendly lady is somewhere near the age of my late grandmother, so out of respect we call her “Dadi”. My mother calls her Aunty but she feels it disrespectful to call my parents by their names so she calls them “Bhaiya and Bhabhi”.

My Bhabhis call me didi and my 6 yrs younger brother as Bhaiya when they are way older than us but this is just a gesture of respect. But when someone is either the same age or elder and calls you Aunty or Uncle, that is what is irritating
