• The seven basic colours in the rainbow creates a range of colours which are visible for our eyes. This visible range or spectrum of light rays is known as the visible spectrum.

• Red coloured lights are used as stopping lights in the traffic signals because the red colour has the longest wavelength which is visible from very long distance. This far visibility property of the red colour helps the drivers to see the stop signal from a large distance to avoid accidents.

• If there is two prisms which are attached with each other by there a rectangular side then no dispersion will happen.

Because, the dispersed light rays from the first prism will enter in the second prism and will become a single light ray again for the second time refraction.
