5. Considered part of Bengal : Historically, it has always been a part of Bengal. Under Mughals, it was under Nizam of Bengal. Under British, it was under Bengal Presidency. Hence, it was never much publicised. Without the struggle of many Odias like Gopabandhu Das, Madhusudan Das, etc.
