Reasons for the magnet to stop working:
- The needle in the magnetic compass is a small magnet. It points the north and south pole with the help of earth magnet.
- When the magnetic compass is near or in the strong magnetic field, it starts to swing.
- When it is taken out of that field, then the magnetic needle works as usual.
- For example, when a magnetic compass is placed near the refrigerator, the compass does not point correctly.

Explanation:
•The lab was full of Electronic Appliances.
• That may have high magnetic effects.
•The magnet in the compass needle is small that can not work in strong magnetic field ( i.e. field in the room.
•If it is back in normal environment, then it will back its magnetism also.
