yonder sky that ha wept tears...swept plain. why does the speaker say that sky may change.

The speaker i. e., Chief Seattle says tomorrow it may be overcast with clouds because they have been living in harmony with the native for centuries but tomorrow it may not be so as they have been asked to sell the lands to the White settlers. They will be allowed enough land to live comfortably on the condition that they do as per the desires of the Great Father in Washington.So,Chief Seattle thinks that their future will be dark.
