Step 1 of 2:

Total number of persons =4

The first person can stand in line to buy tickets in 4 ways.

Now, there are 3 places left and the second person can stand in 4-1=3 ways.

Similarly , the third one can stand in 3-1=2 ways.

And the last one can stand in 1 way.

Step 2 of 2:

So, by Fundamental principle of counting , total number of ways =4\times 3\times 2 \times1=24
