You and your friend have booked tickets to go to the theatre. You are unable to

go but have found another friend to accompany him/her instead. Write a letter

to your friend explaining why you can no longer go to the theatre, suggesting a

friend's name and why you think this person would be good to go with to the

theatre.

Dear Ankush,

I am writing to apologize for not accompanying you tomorrow for the theatre show, which we have pre-booked a week ago.

I am extremely sorry to inform you about this at last moment. Unfortunately, my foot tripped and I fell sideways when I was going to grocery yesterday. I tried to get up but could not stand. Later, I realized I had sprained my ankle. Thanks to those kind persons who were there. They helped me to get up and took me to doctor in vicinity. Doctor has highly recommended to rest for two days for speedy recovery. That is why I am unable to walk and join you.

At the same time, I understand your love for the theatre and how excited you are to watch this show. Therefore, I asked my brother to accompany you tomorrow and he agreed. This way we need not to bother for ticket cancellation and refund. Lastly, I would say don't worry about me. I would be fine in two days.

Once again sorry for not making it this time. Hope you won't mind.

Enjoy and have lots of fun.

Best wishes,

Ell Green
