Student 1: Now that we have got permission from the Principal to paint the wall, I am very glad that we can show our creativity and put our innovative work on the wall.
Student 2: We would, you are quite positive about it. But, do you expect that all the other classmates will be equally excited.
Student 1: They may be or may be not. If they are not supportive, we have to encourage them to join hands as it is their class also. In my views we need to talk with them about how they would feel if their work is put on the wall.
Student 2: You are right, we have to show them the positive side of it, instead of cribbing and complaining, or thinking it as our work only. In my views, we should involve them all in decision making also, so that they have more sense of responsibility and there is no conflict.
Student 1: You are right. I think we must talk with our classmates and make a group responsible for the wall maintenance. We can change the groups month wise also.
Student 2: That is a good suggestion.

There can be many problems.

Student 1: We will need to ask the principal about painting the wall in our classroom.

Student 2: Yes, but do you think he will allow it?

Student 1: I don’t know. We will have to convince him.

Student 2: That is true. For that we will have to have the answers to all the questions that he might ask us. So, we need to think of all possible problems and then their solutions.

Student 1: I can already think of the biggest problem. If we get the chance to paint the wall, and others don’t, the others might feel left out. It can cause unpleasantness.

Student 2: So, what do we do?

Student 1: We’ll see. Let’s first list out the problems and then get to the solutions.

Student 2: Ok. What if the other classes ask for permission to paint a wall too? Sir won’t allow the entire school to be painted!

Student 1: That is another point to think about.

Student 2: And what about paint spill overs? It might ruin the desks lying around.

Student 1: Goodness! This is getting complicated!

Student 2: We just need to think really hard.

Student 1: I have an idea. We could present our idea to the principal for consideration. Then he could hold a competition to ensure that the most deserving students get a chance to contribute to the wall. If we get selected, it will be in a fair way.

Student 2: And if we don’t, we could volunteer to be in charge of the project! He won’t refuse us. After all, it was our idea.

Student 1: Yes, and the competition should be open to all classes. So, they won’t come asking for a wall each. We might just need to select another wall, may be in the gallery or some other central place.

Student 2: That sounds perfect. Let’s make it a team effort. To make it a team work, people could be assigned duties like managing the movement of students around the wall. Since one person cannot be on guard all day, we can take turns protecting the wall.

Student 1: That’s a good idea.

Student 2: Regarding the spillovers, the area around the wall will be covered using old sheets or newspapers and any spillovers will be cleaned up immediately.

Student 1: Yes, that can definitely be done. And, some students can come up with ideas regarding the theme, while others can think of captions. Let us get everyone involved in one way or another.

Student 2: I think we have enough information to go ask him for permission now.

Student 1: Yes, let us hope for the best!
