Lets make a mathematical approach.

Let your present age is x years

So your Sister age i.e, 3 times must be 3x years.

Now 5 years ago ( means subtracting 5 years from both of your ages)

Your ages would have been x-5 ( yours) and 3x-5 ( sister's)

And at that time her age was 5 times of your age. So in order to equate the equation, if we multply 5 in past age of yours that must be equal to your sister's past age.

5*(x-5) = 3x-5

Solving this equation we get x=10 years

As x is your present age…and your sister's age is 3 time i.e, 3x

So 3*10 =30 years.

Hope it helps!
