You are a final-year engineering student, studying in a reputed engineering college of India. Campus

placements are going on in your college and most of your friends have already been placed in reputed multi-

national companies.

You have appeared in selection tests for many companies but have failed to clear any of them. The placement

season is drawing to a close. You have taken an educational loan to pay for the college tuition fees. Your

parents have high hopes from you and placement in a good MNC is very important for your future.

Some of your friends have offered to help you to cheat in the next selection test. Many of them have

themselves cleared their tests by cheating and now have job offers from big MNCs. You have never cheated in

any exam in your whole student life. But the present situation is making you ambiguous.

a. What are the options available to you?

b. Evaluate each option and suggest the best course of action?

Answer:

Remember…

“Your campus placements do not decide your fate . It is just the start .In the process analyze your performance. Understand why you could not make it through and it's ok to not get that offer which you always wanted. Build this never give up attitude and I am sure life will offer you something better than you thought you could ever get. Confidence and Persistence in the key to success .Keep trying!!!”

Let me tell you a story…

There was a guy who wanted to pursue Masters. He was all set. Had an outstanding CGPA, Numerous projects and a terrific SOP. And a score of 314 in GRE. In his final year, his dad requested him to get a job as he wouldn't be able to support financially. Shapoorji Pallonji had gone by then. Larsen & Toubro’s interview was within a week. He wasn't prepared for the interview. He hadn't touched a single book in 6-7 months.

As expected, he wasn't selected in L&T. The interviewer told him he needed to study his basics first and then apply for other company. His ego was hurt. He studied and prepared. He was selected in Afcons. But the pay wasn't good.  A few months later, he received a mail, asking him if he wanted L&T to reconsider his application.  Today that guy is in L&T having the time of his life.

Moral of the story:

1.Have patience.

2. Accept that your ego is hurt and show resilience.

3. Opportunities will present itself. Be wise enough to grab it.

4. Have faith that something good is right around the corner.

Hope it helps you !!!!

All the Best :P
