Violent quarrel at ABC College

Durgapur, 12th April: Durgapur witnessed the ugliest college quarrel in front of ABC College.
What started as just a squabble between the first year Commerce students and the third year Commerce students took an ugly turn when students of other streams joined in.
The quarrel started over the using of the Common room. The third year students, on account of their seniority, were not allowing their juniors to share the Common room. When someone of the first year protested he was brutally beaten up by the third years. This sparked the quarrel.
The General Secretary, Ravi Kumar, was trying to bridge the differences when some other senior boys of the Arts stream joined in and made lewd comments at the juniors.
This attracted the juniors of the other streams and the situation went out of control.
There was a violent combat between about five hundred students. The police had to be called to manage the situation. Twenty students have been arrested on account of the quarrel.
