The soldier told the villagers that he had special powers to make a soup out of two stones, which was the tastiest soup ever.  He asked for a pot, some fire and a few utensils to make the stone soup.   When everything was arranged he asked for a meal from the strangers.  This allowed him to get a meal from the unfriendly strangers in Bohemia and satisfy his hunger.
