You are a resident of Mahalakshmi Apartments, Patparganj, Delhi.

Your residential area is flooded with road-side dwellers that are

deprived of the basic civic amenities like street lights, public toilets

etc. Write a letter to the editor of ‘The Hindustan Times’, in 100-120

words, highlighting the problems of these road-side dwellers and also

the problems posed by them to the public. Give suggestions for

Subject: Issue of road-side dwellers

Sir:

I am writing this letter to bring to your notice the issue of thousands of road-side dwellers living in the residential areas of Delhi. These roadside dwellers live in pathetic conditions that are deprived of the basic civic amenities like street lights, public toilets etc.

The lack of hygiene has posed a serious threat to the residents living in the surrounding areas. Our locality has become a literal hell of squalor, garbage heaps, broken roads, overflowing manholes, stagnated water, and reeking smell, posing serious threat to our health.

We, the residents have complained about the issue to the authorities, but no action has been taken. These road-side dwellers should be provided a safe and decent place to live in. Through the medium of your esteemed daily I appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take speedy measures to bail us out of our plight. Thanking you.

Yours truly,

Avinash
