Another disaster hits owing to the carelessness against smooth transportation and road construction.
One part of NH667 in Delhi has always been prone to accidents. Another tragic incident proves the deathly hallow of the road. On 13th August 2019, an oil tanker of capacity 50 tonnes hit a transport bus in the early hours of the evening. The accident was immediately followed by rushing of medics and other first-aid vehicles.
The oil tanker and the bus tried to escape from each other. The speed limits of both the vehicles were said to be over limits as expressed by the spectators of the incident. Trying to balance at that steep turn, the vehicles had to manage to escape each other. That didn’t work out very fine as the oil tanker hit the right part of the bus deck.
The tanker lost control and there were huge spills of petrol all over. The paramedics and rescue team were just on time and saved the lives of many people while fire just caught up at one corner of the bus as stated by the victims. Unfortunately, the drivers of both vehicles could not be saved.
However, the authorities of road transport reported to the press stating that the design of the road will be changed soon meanwhile, their reports were for courtesy and they were not bothered much because the over speed limits of the vehicles were proven.
