RE: Views on corporal punishment.

I hereby write this mail to express my views on corporal punishment in schools. Punishment is mad to trigger positive change in a student in order to realize betterment in a certain aspect. With this in mind therefore, punishment can be done in many different ways that are beneficial and trigger positive change.

Ii say this because I have observed that corporal punishment triggers negative change in a student, in that, it involves inflicting pain to students. This causes stress and fear in students rather than the positive desired change. I therefore feel that corporal punishment is bad and should not be used as a means of punishment.

Regards,,

Aditya.

Subject: Corporal punishment in schools

Sir:

I am writing to your good self to express my views on corporal punishment being given to students at schools. Though the Government has banned, yet it is being indulged in.

Corporal punishment has many disadvantages. It has been seen that children who were administered corporal punishment became stubborn and obdurate. Secondly, in many cases corporal punishment led to severe injuries or in certain cases death. Corporal punishment instills in the minds of children fear, which is diametrically opposite to the purpose of education. One of the aims of education is to make human mind free of all types of fear. So, corporal punishment and education cannot go hand in hand. It is a kind of child abuse.

I appeal to the authorities to look into it and do something in this regard.

Warm regards,

Aditya
