Thousands of passengers from all across the nation have been stranded at New Delhi Railway station due to the flood situation caused by incessant rains in Himachal Pradesh and Utrakhand. The dams were filled to the brim and lakhs of cusecs of water were released from dams. As a result the rivers have been overflowing. Plains have been flooded. The railways have suspended plying of trains.

At Delhi Railway Station thousands of passengers have been stranded. The passengers are forced to live on the platform. There is shortage of food, water, and lodging facilities. Thousands of passengers are forced to sleep on the platforms. The Government is trying to provide food and shelter to them. Yatri Nivas buildings are full of passengers. All of them are praying for the resumption of railway traffic.
