Subject: Negative impact of Bollywood movies on language of teenagers

Sir:

I am writing to your worthy self to express my deep concern over the negative impact of Bollywood movies on children, especially the teenagers. The movies contain some catchy dialogues spoken by their favorite celebrities. The teenagers after watching these movies often use their dialogues at homes and schools. My own son once used Salman Khan’s dialogue while conversing with me. I aske him whether he would study regularly or not . He replied: ‘Ek Bar Jo Mene Commitment Kar Di Toh Fir Mei Apne Aap Ki Bhi Nahi Sunta.’ I felt quite angry at him. Similarly, other children must also be doing the same with their parents and teachers too. In some cases they use quite vulgar and abusive language copying their favorite celebrities.

Through the medium of your esteemed daily, I appeal to the parents, teachers, and the Government authorities to discourage this use of Bollywood movies language by the teenagers by snubbing them or advising them. I hope you will give my views enough space in your reputed daily.

Thanking you.

Yours truly,

Rishab Pant
