Well, I am getting number of questions and request when a person is looking to change his / her line of job and want me to answer the question. My suggestion to all these have been that YOU are the only person that can answer this question and No one else can do it in your behalf.
You must have given a well worked out reasoning and thought to yourself to change the job. Whenever a person is changing the line of business there are several reason for it. Like he is not liking the current profile, there seems to be no or less opportunity in current business / profile, he / she personally feel that it is not the career that he was supposed to, and many.
This is your personal decision that you are looking for a change. You must have studied many positive things and instances about the new line of career. You must have come across some people who are doing really good in the new line and the people who are not doing good in the current line. There might have been examples of person rising to greater heights in IT field. There are lots and lots of news on IT and everyone is talking about it. Salary packages are attractive. You have chances to travel around the world in IT.
So best way is to write down the various reason that you are looking to change to IT , mention both positive and negative. Then do a self analysis and find out why do you think you are best fit for IT. Select the top 5 reason from these and present them to the Interviewer. Be prepared to face the negative side of IT as these will be put across to you by the Interviewer. And also be prepared to work as a fresher
