April 16, 2013: Iran and Pakistan have been reportedly struck by a powerful earthquake. The shaking of plate was said to be lasted for only 25 seconds with a sudden momentum magnitudes of 7.7. As per the reports of Iranian government and International Seismological Center, the earthquake was observed around 3:15 Pm on April 16.
Nearly three civilians from Iran and 35 civilians from Pakistan were dead and many other were injured due to this high magnitude shaking. The ISC has reported that the earthquake has struck the entire Arabian Plate that homes many border states of Iran like Saravan and Baluchestan province.
This is the largest earthquake in Iran that happened in past fifty years.
