  • To repair the decaying, cavity and damage of tooth the amalgam procedure of four layers are used by dentists. This process includes, applying of filling that is made up of different materials to restore the damaged tooth.
  • The filling gets hardened after applying and seals the affected area. This filling is made up of- mercury (in liquid form), the alloy consisted of silver, copper, tin in the form of powder.
  • These materials are placed in the order in which mercury is placed first then the alloy is placed with the right order of metals- silver being the first, then the tin and copper respectively.
