An iron strip can be converted to magnet in several ways. Following is one of doing so:

Step 1: Take the given iron strip.

Step 2: Place a bar magnet on the iron strip and rub against it horizontally, only in a single direction.

Step 3: Once you reached the strip end, lift the magnet and repeat the process from the starting position.

Step 4: Repeat the process atleast for 40 to 50 times, more is better.

Step 5: It is expected that by this time the iron strip already converted  into magnet.
