you are given an iron strip.
how will you make it into a magnet?

you could simply do it by rubbing it by magnet. this will help attain the magnetic properties to the iron strip. though this will be a short Term effect. to further Maximize it's time to resist magnetic property, the magnet should be more rubbed with the iron strip

when you rub this iron strip on a magnet then this iron strip act as a temporary magnet......
or
when you wound electucical wire around strip and then by flowing current in the wire iron strip act as a magnet......
