There are three ways to join the models of six carbon atoms and fourteen hydrogen atoms to form different molecules of C6H14  

First way is straight chain of carbon atoms

Second way is branched chain of carbon atoms

Third way is closed chain of carbon atoms.

Isomers of C6H14 are shown below. We can arrange the number of C atoms as follows:

  1. Hexane
  2. 2-methyl pentane
  3. 3-methyl pentane
  4. 2,2-dimethylbutane
  5. 2,3-dimethyl butane
