we know that acid turns blue litmus to red .

so if u take a blue litmus paper and test them, which solution will turn the blue litmus to red that will be acid i.e, Hcl.

and if u take a red litmus and test it on both solutions one of the solution will turn it blue so that is the base i.e , Naoh.
