We can identify the type of solution by the following method -

  • Here, we have to use any type of chemical indicator which will change it's colour according to the nature of the corresponding solution.
  • In this case, we will use the litmus paper as our indicator.
  • Blue litmus paper turns red in acidic medium turns, red litmus paper turns into blue in basic medium and doesn't change any colour (stays purple) in neutral medium.
  • Now, the litmus paper will turn red in the solution A, will turn blue in solution B and will not change any colour (stays purple) in solution C.
  • In this way, we can show the acidic, basic and neutral nature of the solution A,B and C respectively.
