we connect them in parallel to get maximum current because resistance is low in parallel connection in comparison to series

  • equivalent resistance 1/R=1/R1+1/R2

1/R =1/2+1/2 = 1 ohm

in series connection R = R1+R2 =2+2 =4

in parallel connection R = 1

so, we can see resistance is low in parallel connection therefore current will be high or max. when we connect resistors in parallel
