A very good morning to each one present here. I am Hemant ,tge head boy of this school and i am very grateful to today's program staff who gave me a chance to present a speech before you all. So today i am here to say few words about the pollution. We all knew about the pollution but seems unaware about that. Pollution are of various kinds and all of them are very dangerous not only for humans but also for other organisms too. each kind of pollutions contains various shorts of harmful chemicals in it...The drainages are not cleaned at regular intervals which increase harmful toxic chemicals in it....and is later on harmful for people living nearby. Air pollutions makes the air polluted such that things in them become unhealthy. Many animals in search of food eat the plastics and it may stuck in their bodies and may not be digested.......we all know that plastic do not decompose easily a thus the animals die.....all that we need to do is take some small steps to make aur environment free of plastics and pollution....make others aware of it...with this i am ending my speech. What is the concern?
Now-a-days plastic bags are being used endlessly and people are not aware how it harms our environment ,which made this one of the most alarming environmental issue.
What are the impacts of plastic pollution?
Plastic is made up of Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which is considered as a very toxic chemical for human health .For its production,it releases dioxins,phthalates,ethylene dichloride, lead, cadmium and other toxic chemicals. When plastic is burnt it relases toxic gases like Dioxins, Furans, Mercury and Polychlorinated Biphenyls into the atmosphere.
Plastic is 73% of the beach litter.Most of the plastics don't degrade which clogs up the drainage system which is also not cleaned at regular intervals leading to a disturbance in the natural cycles and illness to the people of nearby area.2 million plastic bags are used every day worldwide. More than 5 trillion pieces of plastic are floating in the oceans.
Plastic contains certain things which are unhealthy and linked with adverse health issues like cancers,reduced fertility,developmental & reproductive issues.
It has a huge impact on the animals . Millions of animals are being killed from birds to fish.Animals eat plastic and die out of it due to blocked digestive tracks and pierced organs.It was found that many seals & marine turtles were killed due to ingestion of plastic.
The major problem with plastic is that is cannot be degraded easily as it is made of PET which cannot be decomposed by bacteria nowadays.
So, i request you all to share this information with everyone you know so that we can spread awareness and let's strive for a better nation for our own future .
