Subject: Inconvenience due to open manholes
Dear Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to the inconvenience caused to the residents of Chanakyapuri, due to the wretched condition of the main road leading to our locality. The road is a virtual death trap for the people as it is pockmarked with open manholes. The situation worsens during the rainy season when the road is virtually flooded and the open manholes simply go unnoticed.
These open manholes have claimed many lives. I would appeal to the authorities concerned to take remedial action at the earliest to ensure that the pedestrians can walk freely through the road safely at night and during rains.

Sub: Expressing the concern regarding open manholes.
Sir,
Through the column of your esteemed newspaper, I Kamal Pandya, a resident of 10 Civil Lines Extension would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the problems faced by the Civil Lines residents due to the negligence towards the manhole maintainece in locality. Currently, the locality is facing a severe issue regarding open manholes in the residential area.
The road to locality's main plaza has three open manholes which has become the reason of fear among the residents. The three manholes are open since previous 6 months. Those 6 months have caused a lot of loss, which includes the lives of many innocent people and stray animals too. Frequent accidents and mishaps are taking place. Rainy season is turning into a worst nightmare the residents can witness. The waterlogging from the gutter is causing unhygienic situations. It is also increasing the rate of deaths as the open manholes aren't visible due to waterlogging. This is been reported to the authorities a number of times yet no action was taken.
I would like to request the Municipal Commissioner to take immediate action and help the distressed citizens.
