Respected Sir,
Sub: Article on the growing menace of tobacco
As mentioned in the above subject, I would like to share my opinion with the people of this city regarding the growing menace of social ills like tobacco. Despite a complete ban on its sale by the government, the usage of tobacco has not dipped down even a bit and people continue to be addicted to using it. This has led to the destruction of many a family, causing grave distress and spoiling their futures. Once a person is addicted to such evils like smoking, drinking and drugs, I feel that it is very difficult to bring him back on the right path, due to the heavy addiction these substances cause.
In my opinion, the Times of India, being a national newspaper can also contribute to help prevent the spread of this menace. I would request you to bring about campaigns and other initiatives around the country to ensure that the ban is implemented successfully. We need volunteers around the country to ensure that shops do not sell the banned product. I request you to urge people to join this initiative and contribute towards making India better. I hope you consider my opinions and think of implementing a solution to this national evil.
Yours Sincerely,
Kiran.
