Dear Diary,

I felt the big trunk in his room, which I saw when I went to collect the marble for my brother, contained innumerable pieces of precious jewels and other valuables or cash. So I wanted to know how Mr. Nath was able to pay for his meals because he never goes out to work.

Nishad,  my brother is a boy of seven (also called Seven because his name means the seventh note on the musical scale) and I am his ten-year-old sister Maya; we are very curious about one Mr. Nath. Then one day the children's marble rolls into Mr. Nath's room, and Nishad gets a chance to see him.

“That man must be Mr. Nath's accomplice in crime,” I said. “Maybe keeps all the loot and he comes now and then to give part of it to his partner, Mr. Nath, for expenses. That's it! I'm right.” “If you insist on calling him a criminal, I don't think I want to discuss anything with you, Maya,” said Nishad angrily.

I thought that Mr. Nath's visitor was his accomplice in his crimes. I believed that he kept all the loot with him and used to come now and then to give his partner his share so that he could manage his expenses.  But later on, we learned that the Sunday visitor is Mr. Nath's brother. Mr. Nath used to work for a big private company and left the job for a while because he was not keeping well. He is suffering from some liver ailment and will be undergoing surgery soon.

Mr. Nath is a patient of the doctor's mother of ours. He is a thin person who has suffered a lot during his life. He is a man with simple nature and always takes simple meals.
