You are measuring the density of a liquid. You forget to subtract the mass of the empty measuring cylinder from the total mass, would your calculation of density be bigger or smaller than it should be?

Answer:

Bigger

Explanation:

The formula for density is D = m/V.

Clearly, from the formula, we can notice that mass is directly proportional to density. So, if mass of the measuring cylinder is not subtracted, then density calculated will be greater than the actual density of the liquid.
