A school bus carrying students about 25 children met with an accident near Chitpore lock gate at around 9:30 am on Monday morning. The accident took place on P.K Mukherjee Road-Cossipore Road crossing.

There were 25 students inside the bus, out of whom 12 students were injured apart from the driver and the helper.

All of them were admitted to R.G Kar Hospital. Police have said that the injuries are not serious. However, the children were said to be in a state of shock. The bus was moving at high speed and while it was about to take a turn, it lost control and collided with a lamp post. Police from nearby Chitpore police station and Shyambazar Traffic Guard reached the spot and rescued the injured.
