you are planning to visit a very cold place where the night temperature dropped to - 50 Celsius which thermometer will you take along with you-- Mercury or alcohol? why?

You will take alcohol as mercury freezes at -38 degree Celsius and so that the temperature is -50 degree Celsius. Therefore it will not be convenient to take the mercury thermometer.
