A day before the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2019, the Election Commission of India has given the counting process across India a final touch. Earlier in the day, the Election Commission rejected demands by Opposition parties that VVPAT slips should be matched with data from EVMs ahead of the counting tomorrow for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. The list of Opposition leaders included Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Chandrababu Naidu and HD Kumaraswamy among others. BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Ram Madhav have attacked the Opposition saying they were blaming EVMs because they were rattled by a possible defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. The Election Commission gave its assurance there will be no change in the procedure of matching Voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) slips. The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued alerts to all states and union territories of possible violence ahead of counting day in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections tomorrow.
