Sub: Conservation of forests
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a student of Std 10, studying in Vidyabharati High School. Everyday on the way to school I pass by a long line of old trees on either side of the road. Also I come from a forested area and I have always enjoyed the presence of trees around me. Recently the government had started many infrastructural developments in the district and is destroying lot of these forested areas. It is really painful to see these old trees being cut down to make way for bridges and railway lines.
I request you to urgently look into this matter and take concrete steps to conserve these forests as these are the wealth of our nation.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely

Subject: Need to conserve forests
Sir:
I am writing to your esteemed self to express my deep concern over the problem of loss of green belts in the state of Maharashtra due to sprawling urbanization and industrialization.
The best option is construction of smart cities that are well planned and are installed with pollution treatment plants and are based on sustainable development principles must be the law. No unplanned human settlements should be allowed. Since the land is the limited factor in the entire world, and the mankind has already denuded billions of hectares of forests, apartment buildings should be constructed.
Maharashtra has witnessed unprecedented loss of forests. Uncontrolled urbanization and lack of greenery in the cities are directly the cause of this deterioration of environment. Forests and green belts must be preserved at all costs.
The people must give environment the top priority even while constructing any building, settlement, township, or city. The pristine green belt left sparsely must not be touched at all. These green spaces are the unique purifiers. So they must be maintained and preserved at any cost.
I appeal to the Environment Ministry and Forest Department to look into the matter and implement stricter laws to preserve forests and green belts in our state. Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Preeti Desai
