To make a tester of magnetic compass needle, take a matchbox. wrap an electrical wire a few times around the matchbox.
place a small compass needle inside it. now connect one free end of the wire to a terminal of two cell battery. from the other terminal of battery connect another wire. now tester with two free ends of wire is ready.
Principle of working:
when current flows in a wire, a compass needle gets deflected.in other words current carrying wire produces magnetic field around it.
