For this, at first bring a magnet near the mixture and hold it for long. In this process, the iron fillings will get separated out.
Now heat the mixture a little. During this process, the sublimatory substance ammonium chloride will get vaporised.
Next pour water over the mixture and stir it well. The salt will get dissolved and the sand will remain.
