you are provided with the four test tubes containing solution of iron sulphate, Ammonium Sulphate, copper sulphate and zinc sulphate respectively and iron nail is added in each test tube, that according to you first in which case a reddish brown coating is observed on a surface of iron nail give reason dash second in which case the colour of the solution will change? Write chemical equation for the reaction involved

Here is the answer to your query:-

1.Iron nail will become reddish brown in Copper Sulphate solution.
CuSO4+Fe------->FeSO4+Cu
This is because the Iron is more reactive than copper and displaces copper from copper sulphate solution forming Iron Sulphate.

2.Copper Sulphate solution will change its colour from blue to green because the colour of copper sulphate solution is blue but after reaction it forms iron sulphate solution which is of green colour.
